5000 Exec Vs. BlueAir AV501 FILTRATION: AllerAir 5000 Exec has a Hepa filter, two anti-microbial filters, and a pro dense pre-filter as well as 18 pounds of carbon. BlueAir AV501 has a Hepa filter plus only 2 pounds of carbon. BlueAir AV501 has NO pre-filter and no anti-microbial filters making it very difficult to maintain cleanliness in the unit itself.
Cost Of Ownership: AllerAir recommends that you change the Carbon filter twice in 5 years for your 5000 Exec. AllerAir recommends that you replace the Hepa filter every 5 years. Cost over 5 years to change all filters is 600.00 including the unit itself.
BlueAir AV501 requests that you change the carbon and hepa filter 10x in 5 years ( no prefilter) Cost over 5 years to change all filters, 2100.00 including cost of unit. * For the difference buy a piece of art for home or office
Noise Level: The BlueAir unit is very quiet on very low speed. However there is almost no airflow, therefore very little filtration is taking place at low speed. Second and third speeds are more reasonable for filtration. Sound level is the same as the 5000Exec at low speed. At all speeds the BlueAir is charging the dust to adhere to their hepa. This is compromised at high speeds. It works well on their low and medium speeds and less efficiently at high speed.
Maintenance BlueAir requests that you vacuum the unit, this due to no pre-filter. It is extremely difficult to properly clean the unit. Dust collects throughout the interior of the unit. To properly clean the unit you would have to completely disassemble the unit |
